Ultimately, planning is the process of communication and the sharing of information with the goal of implementing suitable strategies over time to help achieve your goals and objectives. While it sounds simple enough, with so many different financial service providers, asset classes, and products available, navigating the financial environment is complex, confusing and time consuming.
Knowing where to start first, what to look for and the traps to avoid is essential. Taking into consideration factors such as income earning potential, risk exposure, potential taxation treatment, and opportunity costs is also key to successful planning.

Plan, Act and Evaluate. There is a lot of work behind the scenes to develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan. Plans are dynamic in nature and require regular review to ensure they remain relevant in a changing financial landscape. Subject to your ongoing service choice, you will have our ongoing support once the plan has been implemented.
Our approach has been designed to efficiently flow through 3 key stages - Discovery, Recommendation and Implementation
While there’s different steps needed to be taken at each stage, they have been designed to carefully navigate you from understanding your financial potential, to identifying and reviewing strategic options, and finally choosing and implementing the right strategies.
We begin with our obligation free complementary Financial Review Meeting. When scheduling this meeting, we’ll provide you with our Financial Services Guide. This document contains information about the services we provide and other relevant information for you as a consumer to help you make informed decisions.
The more information we have at the initial meeting, the easier it is for us to analyse your situation and provide meaningful assistance. To aid the process, we will also provide you with our fact find document, giving you the opportunity to prefill information in preparation for our meeting.
During this meeting we’ll discuss:
Your current needs and future goals, objectives, and financial preferences
Your basic financial information – employment, income, cash flow, assets & liabilities
Your potential planning strategies
To progress to the next stage, we’ll then request from you any additional information and documentation required to allow us to research your existing financial products, like Super, Insurance and your investments. This will allow us to better determine your options and make suitable recommendations.
Armed with all the relevant information and required documentation, this is where we action our expertise.
We’ll conduct a thorough analysis of your financial circumstances relative to your goals and objectives. We will research your existing products and identify areas for improvement or action. This will allow us to determine appropriate strategies aimed at achieving your objectives. During this process we will consider the appropriate timing and integration of the strategic options available to develop a strategic roadmap.
Based on the area of advice required, we will compare available products with the aim of shortlisting the potential options suited to your requirements. We’ll consider factors such as the product’s current and past performance, overall costs, ongoing fees, product features gained and/or lost, customer service support, and where relevant, available platforms and accessibility.
Once we’re satisfied with the strategy, we will document our advice in a Statement of Advice (SOA). Where multiple advice areas are identified, we may provide this advice on a scaled basis, addressing specific areas individually in their own SOA.
The SOA document is designed to provide you with the required information to make an informed decision. It includes:
Your Client Information – a record of the information provided by you in relation to your financial circumstances, goals and objectives.
Our Assessment – of the information obtained from our interviews, discussions and our reasonable enquiries. This forms the basis of our product recommendation.
A Product Comparison – this compares the suitable products identified, detailing costs and benefits and highlighting their differences.
Our Recommendation – which provides important information we must give you when we provide financial advice. It contains information about the proposed product, fees to pay, and the commissions we receive.
Once we’ve covered all the details, answered all your questions and ensured you are satisfied, we’ll seek your approval to proceed to implementation. From here, we’ll implement the recommendations documented in the Statement of Advice with the relevant service provider.
Depending on the complexity of the advice, and time lapsed, there may be additional information required or further clarifications. We will coordinate communications with you and the product provider to facilitate the implementation.
We’ll keep you updated and informed along the journey, being mindful of the key requirements to help ensure a smooth implementation process. Subject to your ongoing service choice, you will have our ongoing support once the plan has been implemented.
